This blog started out one year ago today. The original idea was to start a blog as an actual ministry on the internet. I figured that I would teach a Bible study, have a Bible Q & A site, and respond to current events from a Christian perspective.
Along the way the original blog has expanded to 8 sites and usually I am way over my head with all the technical stuff. Sometimes I have gotten off track and have forgotten the original vision. Sometimes it has been more like a hobby. Sometimes it has been a burden. But sometimes I remember to include the Lord in what I am doing and it is actually a blessing. It has definitely been an interesting ride so far. There have been ups and downs, but mostly ups and many blessings in the process.
Here is a quote from my first post on this blog, it contains the original vision for this ministry:
Yesterday in church, two scriptures came to mind in relation to this project:
1Peter 3:15 “Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.” (NIV)
Jude 3 ” I felt I had to write and urge you to contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted to the saints.” (NIV)
The domain name for this blog came to me from two scriptures.–’answers’ from 1Peter 3:15, and ‘for the faith’ from Jude. These scriptures are the reason & theme of this blog–we plan on answering questions on the Bible & on the Christian faith–with comments and observations on Christian survival in a decidedly secular society and adversarial environment.
I was praying over this blogging ministry again yesterday during church, one year later, and the Holy Spirit came. I look forward to blogging this year with a promise from the Lord for greater vision and wisdom. Praise God.
