“Radical Christianity is just as threatening as radical Islam in a country like America.”
Good grief Miz Rosie! What an outrageous statement! Where are the severed heads, crashed planes, and where are the buildings destroyed by ‘radical’ Christians.
What is a ‘Radical’ Christian anyway? Always thought Paul and Silas were ‘radical’ to sing praise songs to Jesus after they were beat up and thrown in prison. Peter was pretty ‘radical’ to request a upside down crucifixion. Luther was ‘radical’ when he nailed his 95 objections to the church door. Tyndale was ‘radical’ when he dared to translate the Bible into English and was burned at the stake for his efforts.
The following are some modern ‘radical’ Christians: The Polish Bishop (who later became a Pope) who refused to surrender the church to the communists, the families who continued to work among the Ecuador Indians after they had killed their husbands (portrayed in the movie: End of The Spear), What about Mother Theresa, she was pretty ‘radical’, or Rolland and Heidi Baker who minister to the poorest of the poor in Mozambique. Heidi holds and hugs diseased and dying orphans and sometimes get lice and skin diseases herself in the process-now that’s ‘radical’.
Rosie–every ‘radical’ Christian I have ever heard of, from every generation and sector of Christianity, has made the world a better place to live. You may not like our lifestyle, and we may not care for yours. You may not like how some of us vote and what we believe; but America is a better place, and the greatest country in the world because of a bunch of ‘radical’ American Christians.
