I have never seen so much controversy and so many inaccuracies about so little real evidence.  I have yet to find a major archaeologist or early Christian scholar (besides the principles involved) who really thinks that this might actually be the tomb of Jesus of Nazareth.  The whole affair is tantamount to being a hoax, and yet so many out there seem to be ready to accept it despite all the evidence which is aligned against it.

In fact, looking at some of the comments that Ben Witherington’s posts have attracted, many seem to be angry when real historical facts are cited.  So many ad hominem attacks!  See: The three posts on Ben Witherington’s Blog.
