Q: If God sees the future and he was so aggrieved by us, why did he make us? See Genesis 6:6:
And the Lord was sorry that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him to his heart. –ESV
A: I believe that he continued with his creation because he sees the complete future and knows that in the end, there will be millions of humanity that do love him and want a relationship. Remember, he also had a plan to redeem the World through his Son Jesus, and he knows how it is all going to turn out.
As a father of four children, I can easily understand this view. Every one of my children have hurt or disappointed me many times, however, there have also been many moments of joy and triumph. I have never regretted bringing any of them into the world, even though I don’t know how its all going to turn out, and I’d like to ‘knock them on the head’ sometimes.
