While referring to The Immigration Bill HR4437, recently passed by the House and now before the Senate, Senator Hillary Clinton cited The Bible, and in the process displayed an interesting understanding and interpretation:
“It is certainly not in keeping with my understanding of the Scriptures, Because this bill would literally criminalize the Good Samaritan and probably even Jesus himself.” www.nypost.com 3/23/06
‘Sorry Hillary’, but your understanding is left wanting. Any beginning Bible student knows that Jesus & the Good Samaritan were ‘legally’ free to travel throughout Judea, Galilee, and most of the Known world for that matter. It was all part of one rather large empire–The Roman Empire, remember? This is why Christianity was able to spread, so quickly and so far, in the first generation. Pax Romana!
