-Praying Thru the Psalms: #142

by Dr. D ~ December 24th, 2020

A Prayer of David

142 I cried unto the Lord with my voice; with my voice unto the Lord did I make my supplication.

2 I poured out my complaint before him; I showed before him my trouble.

3 When my spirit was overwhelmed within me, then thou knewest my path. In the way wherein I walked have they privily laid a snare for me.

4 I looked on my right hand, and beheld, but there was no man that would know me: refuge failed me; no man cared for my soul.

5 I cried unto thee, O Lord: I said, Thou art my refuge and my portion in the land of the living.

6 Attend unto my cry; for I am brought very low: deliver me from my persecutors; for they are stronger than I.

7 Bring my soul out of prison, that I may praise thy name: the righteous shall compass me about; for thou shalt deal bountifully with me.  (KJV)

Our Father,

We cry to you, O Lord; You are our refuge and our portion in the land of the living.
Please O Lord attend to our cry, for Deliverance from our persecutors for they are getting stronger in this land.

We cry out for revival for our people are falling away and your church and Word is no longer respected in this land. In fact, your teachings and Word is now referred to as something that history has passed by and even worse according to some, something that even needs to be eliminated and outlawed as ‘hate speech.’

You have surrounded us with your protection in the past and you have dealt bountifully with our nation. Now the major culture in our land has rejected your teaching and it would seem that our time of blessing from you might be over and the protection that you have given us in the past is now in danger of being lifted.

But rather than the judgment that this nation seems to be heading for and actually deserve , we cry out for a new awakening instead. We ask that your Kingdom would come to the church and bring revival and relief to our cities and harmony among all of our diverse people.

Let your Word be proven in our streets through signs and wonders, healings and miracles. Let our nation rise up spiritually once more while there is yet day.

In Jesus name, Amen.
