-Devotion and Prayer for the Day: Psalm 79

Join us in today’s prayer and devotion-
Read Psalm 79 and then join us in prayer:
Our Father,
Praise your name O Lord; praise your name. We your people and the sheep of your pasture will give thanks to you forever; from generation to generation we will praise your name.
Help us O God of our salvation, in the name of your Son Jesus, and for the glory of your name. Deliver us from sickness and the continuing pandemic and chaos for your name’s sake and prove your Word to be true to this generation. Why should our enemies say, ‘They serve a false religion and worship a false God.’
We cry out for the thousands around the world who bare the name of your Son Jesus and are being persecuted supposedly in your name by a people who believe in a prophet you did not send and a book with teachings you did not write.
Rise up and hear the cries of your people in the Middle East and Africa that are being slaughtered and enslaved every day. Let the truth ring across the land and let your Kingdom come down in the midst of your people and protect your servants. Let your true Word be preached and let signs and wonders confound the enemy and let your church expand exponentially in the face of persecution and death.
We also cry out for the Christians in China and in North Korea who are being persecuted and jailed for their faith. Let the prisoners go free and release them from the destiny that the enemy has crafted for them. Let your Kingdom come and let your will and Word be done in every nation. in addition we cry out for the Christians in the Ukraine who are facing war and all the challenges the go with their conflict with Russia. We also pray for the young Russian soldiers who also do not want to be in the midst of it all.
Let many of the very persecutors and killers of your people be converted to the truth of your Son Jesus Christ. Let a secret revival rise up in their midst and surprise them with your love. For you so loved the world that you gave your only Son; even for those who are killing your servants and destroying your church. Let Your real truth and Word set them free in the name of Jesus.
We praise your name now and forever.
