-Devotion and Prayer for the Day: Zephaniah 1-2

Join us in today’s prayer and devotion-
Read Zephaniah 1-2 and then join us in prayer:
Our Father,
Through the prophet Zephaniah You proclaimed judgment upon all those who worship false gods and adhere to false religions; but also against all those who have turned away from You. That judgment is symbolized by language pointing to the final ‘Day of the Lord’ when all nations and people and all creation will be judged.
In our day that final moment of calamity seems to be coming closer to a reality considering all of the major natural disasters that we have been facing lately and the political unrest and division in our country.
But in Zephaniah You say that before that Day of Your anger: “Seek ye the Lord, all ye meek of the earth, which have wrought his judgment; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be ye shall be hid in the day of the Lord’s anger.”
We ask that You would send Your Holy Spirit to hover over this nation once more with a sovereign move of revival and a new awakening; that this nation might come back to you and seek Your righteousness and honor your Word once more. We seek to be hidden from Your anger in order to sing Your praises once more as a redeemed nation ‘under God.’
