-Devotion and Prayer for the Day: Amos 6

Join us in today’s prayer and devotion-
Read Amos 6 and then join us in prayer:
Our Father,
Through the prophet Amos you declared judgment upon the ancient nation of Israel for pride in their military strength and wealth and for living a rich life of consumption in the face of and at the expense of the poor in their nation.
We pray for our own nation that we would always be found caring for the poor and receive mercy rather than judgment for similar lapses among our people; revival instead of calamity and ruin. We pray that you would continue to respond to the millions of faithful believers in your Son that are still in this country and consider their prayers and cries for a new awakening in America.
Let your Spirit hover over this nation and let your Word be confirmed through signs and wonders, healings, and miracles in this generation; that this people will once more honor your Word- the Bible and seek your righteousness that can come only through faith in your Son Jesus. Let your Word be faithfully preached and demonstrated from sea to shining sea once more.
In Jesus name, Amen.
