-Devotion and Prayer for the Day: Psalm 59

Join us in today’s prayer and devotion-
Read Psalm 59 and then join us in prayer:
Our Father,
Praise your name. Let all who dwell upon the earth know that you rule over all of nature and humanity, even those who disbelieve.
Unto all the peoples of the earth, we will sing of your strength. We will sing aloud of your steadfast love in the morning and your protection in the night. For you have been to us a fortress and a refuge in the days of our distress, a rock during our nights of contention.
Our enemies come against us with well sounding words that seem educated and wise but bring destruction into the lives of all those who accept them. They claim that faith in you brings violence and war. But it is the evil one that leads false prophets astray and false religions into terrorism that is the real danger to peace on the earth.
But you, O Lord, are above the false philosophies that enslave humanity and hold in derision the leaders who would come against the church and the followers of your Son. Rise up O Lord and let your Word go forth to every nation, let your servants testify and preach in every language and to every people.
Let your Kingdom come down in the midst of your church and let the believers demonstrate your power over nature and your reality in face of those who say there is no God. Let healings and miracles, signs and wonders follow all of us who believe and confirm your Word before a disbelieving and deceived world.
In Jesus name, Amen.
