-Devotion and Prayer for the Day: Psalm 56
by Dr. D ~ June 30th, 2020
Join us in today’s prayer and devotion-
Read Psalm 56 and then join us in prayer:
Our Father,
This we know, that you are for us and not against us; we trust you and will not be afraid. The words of your Son dwell within us and your Holy Spirit recalls them to our minds.
We praise your name in the midst of the strife, sickness, death, and confusion surrounding us and trying to take us down. You have called us to go everywhere to bring your Son Jesus to all nations and people particularly to our own neighborhoods, cities, and nation. In the midst of it all we try to demonstrate your love and come against hate.
Yet some are calling believers in your Word- bigots and haters. They say that Christians need to change and reject your teaching in the Bible; that what use to be true is now wrong and what was evil is now good. We wrestle not against flesh and blood but the evil one comes against us using ignorant people who do not know you and serve an ancient one they do not even believe exists.
Rise up O Lord and come to our defense. Give us the words to speak to turn back the enemy and expose the truth. Send others that will help us in the midst of it all and show us the path out of the trouble that the enemy intends for us. Let those who think they are our enemies be disappointed, frustrated, and embarrassed in the process.
Let your Kingdom come down in our midst and over-turn the principalities and powers of the enemy. Bring revival and healing to a dying nation and people and let us celebrate victory over our enemy now and forevermore. Regardless, your joy is our strength in the midst of it all and we choose to celebrate no matter what comes.
In Jesus name, Amen.
