-Devotion and Prayer for the Day: Psalm 46

Join us in today’s prayer and devotion-
Read Psalm 46 and then join us in prayer:
Our Father,
In our quiet times in prayer we feel your presence and know that you are God, your Holy Spirit dwells within us and stills our fears and gives us confidence in the face of disaster. The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress, our refuge and our strength.
Even when the ‘big one’ comes and the earth falls away we know that you are in control and have a plan for us. When the winds blow and bring destruction you are still on the throne and we are part of your family through faith in Jesus Christ. When the waves roar over the walls your word is still true and preserved within our hearts.
When sickness and the pandemic comes, you are our healer. You give us strength in the face of violence and chaos; and your Word compels us to love and pray, even for those who come against us. We are never alone because you have promised to be with us forever in this life and the one to come.
You will be exalted in all creation, the Word of your Kingdom will go forth to every land and your Son will be praise in every nation and among every people. The nations may rage, the kingdoms may totter and the inhabitants of the earth may hide in fear as the earth melts.
But you dwell among your people and your Kingdom is a reality in our midst and your Son is coming with the hosts of Heaven and we shall all be caught up to meet him in the clouds. The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. Praise your name and the name of your Son forever.
