-Devotion and Prayer for the Day: Psalm 5

Join us in today’s prayer and devotion-
Read Psalm 5 and then join us in prayer:
Our Father,
Please listen to our groaning today. We cry out for our nation and culture which is falling away. We have become an arrogant people who ignore your Word seeking our own way and delighting in wickedness and calling right -wrong instead.
Awaken our land once more with your Spirit and bring revival to a people who think they know it all but really don’t; since they don’t know You who sustains it all. Lord there are still many who are righteous in our nation but their voices are being drowned out and ignored. Hear our prayers and by your love let us overcome the evil which is spread across our land.
Please do not ignore our pleas but let us enter into your presence once more in a new way and give all of us believers renewed strength to become witnesses among a people who are rejecting you and do not want to listen. Let the best years of our nation be ahead and not behind.
Lead us O Lord by your Holy Spirit today and show us your ways and help us to follow your straight path and not the way of our culture and world. Protect us from our enemies and teach us how to pray for them with forgiveness.
We take refuge in your presence and your joy; beyond anything that the world has to give and rises up within us. We bless your name. Continue to cover us with your love as a shield and let us learn to give that love to those all around us as a living testimony of you Father and in the name of your Son.
