-Devotion and Prayer for the Day: Jonah 1

Our Father,
The prophet Jonah tried to run away from You and his calling. But wherever one might go You are there—to the highest mountains, You are there; to the farthest nation, You are there; to the depths of the ocean You are also there.
One can never really run away from You—You are always there for us. Whether we sink to the depths of a bottle or iniquity and even do the bidding of our enemy the Devil– you are still there and will prepare a way to bring us back from our greatest failures. Even when we rebel against You and Your Word You are ready to save us when we call on Your name.
Thank You Lord for being there for us regardless and for helping us to face our greatest fears and failures and for giving us a way to ultimately succeed in this life and the life to come through faith in Your Son Jesus Christ. Praise your name Lord.
And in His name we pray, Amen.
