-Devotion and Prayer for the Day: Amos 9

Our Father,
You declared judgment and destruction upon the ancient nation of Israel though the prophet Amos. The evil among that people were killed, the nation disappeared, and a remnant among the people of Israel were scattered among the nations. However, the heirs of Jacob maintained their identity wherever they went.
Through the same prophet, you promised that the heirs of Jacob would one day see their nation of Israel restored and that they would never lose their land and nation again.
You also promised that their posterity would rebuild the wasted cities and plant vineyards and gardens and eat the fruit of their labors and rule over a remnant of Edom now known as Palestinians.
Father, your Word through Amos has been fulfilled and the nation of Israel has been restored and has actually become a major producer of flowers and fruit to the nations that many Israelis came out of 70 years ago.
Lord, may we always remember to support your Word and declarations and remember to pray for the peace of Jerusalem and continue to support the nation of Israel. Let us remember that you have promised to bless those who bless the posterity of Jacob which is the modern nation of Israel. May our nation and people always be faithful to your Word.
