LGBT activist and professional tennis legend Martina Navratilova has come out against allowing trans female athletes compete as women. From the Blaze:

Online outrage ensued. The nine-time Wimbledon champion — who in 1981 became one of the first prominent worldwide athletes to come out as bisexual (and then subsequently as lesbian), and who has long campaigned for LGBT rights — was labeled "transphobic"…
Response: Martina, like the boy who declared that the king was wearing no clothes, is stating what should be obvious. Someone born genetically male who competes as a trans ‘woman’ has a natural advantage in strength. However, when it comes to progressive activism, the truth doesn’t matter if it gets in the way of a PC agenda.
Navratilova, a long time LGBT activist herself, has ironically been called “transphobic” for stating the obvious and asking for standards. She was a pioneer in LGBT rights yet others have now attacked her online for her rational views and she was even kicked out of a LGBT rights group that she was part of for years.
For decades LGBT activists asked for toleration. But lately very little toleration is extended to anyone that does not wholly accept their views and lifestyles. It is shocking that one of their own long-time heroes is now receiving this kind of intolerant treatment. *Top

Dr D – I have theorized that we will be seeing high school or college male athletes who are “good” but just not good enough to start for varsity male basketball (or whatever team), who would then suddenly announce that are really “trans” and would immediately start playing on the girls basketball team – and I think there are a lot of high school or college coaches who would encourage this sort of behavior to give their team the winning edge of having a biologically male player on the team.
It will be interesting to see how the feminist community reacts if this were to become common.

This has put the ‘feminist’ activists in a ‘no-win’ situation. The LGBT reaction to Martina’s observations will give them pause to act at all since their support comes from most of the same progressive folks.
