-Denver School Officials: Christian Ministries Are ‘Hate Groups’?

by Dr. D ~ November 2nd, 2018

Officials with the Denver Public Schools say that they agree with the SPLC designation that lists conservative Christian organizations along with Nazis and the KKK as ‘hate groups.’ From the PJ Media:

On Tuesday, Denver Public Schools (DPS) in Denver, Colo. quoted the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) in a message about “decrying hate.” PJ Media reached out to the school district, explaining the SPLC’s anti-Christian tactics and its promotion of LGBT issues to children at very young ages. The school district responded by defending the SPLC, and declaring that Denver Public Schools shares its values.

Denver Public Schools added,

As a school district, we value conversations that create a sense of belonging, inclusiveness and support for all of our students, including those who are our most vulnerable. We work to ensure that we are providing a variety of culturally responsive resources to our educators and school leaders. The SPLC database is one of the sources that offers those types of tools.”

Response: So the Denver Public Schools go along with the false designation of  Christian organizations as ‘hate groups,’ along with the Nazi’s and the KKK, because they do not support LGBT issues and same-sex marriage? The SPLC lists the following Christian ministries and organizations as ‘hate groups’ among many others:

Family Research Council (FRC), Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF), the Ruth Institute, D. James Kennedy Ministries, and Liberty Counsel

A few years ago the SPLC list was also used in a seminar by the US Army on home grown ‘terrorism’ and American ‘hate groups.’ When a controversy followed and the short comings of the list were pointed out to the Pentagon, Army officials finally backed down saying the list was not an official government designation but only part of a presentation given by the teachers of the conference. This does not seem to be the case with the Denver Public Schools administrators who have responded by ‘doubling down’ instead.

Public schools are not supposed to take an official stand on religion but this district has. With their acceptance of the SPLC designations, it follows that these egghead liberal/progressive school leaders would consider all conservative churches and Christians who still follow the teaching of the Bible as ‘haters.’ I wonder if they have any idea of how many parents in their jurisdiction fall into that category? I think that they may soon find out.               *Top
