-Australia: Synagogue Denied Building Permit Because ‘It Might Draw Terror Attack’?

A Jewish Synagogue didn’t receive a building permit in Sydney, Australia because authorities were fearful that it would become a target for Islamic terror. Here’s the story from Breitbart:
SYDNEY, Australia — Jewish leaders in Australia’s biggest city have reacted with dismay after a court rejected their application to build a new synagogue on the grounds that it could become a terrorist target.
The temple was destined for a piece of land just a short walk from Sydney’s iconic Bondi Beach but nearby residents complained that its presence might draw a terror attack. Inspectors from Waverly Council, which was tasked with the initial approval process, agreed. They pointed to the synagogue’s own design, which included setback buildings and blast walls, as evidence that an attack could be anticipated.
Response: Unbelievable, what a terrible precedent. This action will have the opposite effect than hoped for. The officials are actually rewarding Islamic terrorists and as a result will undoubtedly receive more events of terrorism in their country.
This display of weakness and discrimination against Jews will also encourage radical Muslims to attack other already built synagogues and Jewish schools and businesses.
Chalk this up as an example of the very worst way to respond to Islamic terrorism. *Top

Can you ponder, Dr D, the media reaction if, instead of denying a permit to a synagogue, a mosque was denied a permit because “It might foster a terror attack”?
