-UK: Prince Charles Calls On Us to Remember Muhammad at Christmas?

by Dr. D ~ December 29th, 2016

             (Prince Charles: Wikipedia)

In his traditional Christmas address, UK’s Prince Charles called on his subjects and Christians everywhere to remember Muhammad’s flight to Medina as a parallel to the Holy Family’s trip to Bethlehem. Here’s the story from PJ Media:

“Normally at Christmas, we think of the Birth of our Lord Jesus Christ,” said Prince Charles. “I wonder, though, if this year we might remember how the story of the nativity unfolds, with the fleeing of the holy family to escape violent persecution.”

“And we might also remember that when the prophet Muhammad migrated from Mecca to Medina he was seeking the freedom for himself and his followers to worship.”

Response: There was a time when the English aristocracy considered themselves to be defenders of the Christian faith but obviously that is no longer the case. In deference to the growing Muslim population in the UK, the crown prince considered it necessary to include them in his Christmas address.

To be fair, the major topic of his address seemed to be ‘religious persecution’ and he does have some good things to say on that subject. Nevertheless, its was suppose to be about the Christian observance and celebration of Christ’s birth.

The mention of Muhammad is particularly ironic to me since he was one of the greatest persecutors ever of Christians and Jews and those of other faiths. Add to that the fact that some of the greatest examples of persecution against Christians and other religious minorities in 2016 were perpetrated by modern followers of Muhammad.

During the next month of Ramadan I wonder if Prince Charles will somehow mention Jesus Christ in his address? Very doubtful.               *Top
