-Atheist Billboard ‘Good’- Christian Billboard Message Rejected as ‘Bad’

by Dr. D ~ July 15th, 2016

Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter! –Isaiah 5:20 (ESV)

…in the last days there will come times of difficulty. 2 For people will be lovers of self, not loving good, …lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. –2 Timothy 3: 1-5 (ESV)

An atheist billboard received approval and is now prominently displayed in Cleveland to be seen by those attending the upcoming Republican Convention. While a Christian ad was rejected by the same billboard company as being unacceptable and "way too incendiary." Here’s the story from Charisma News:

A billboard company refused to post a God’s Not Dead 2 billboard ahead of the Republican National Convention, despite promoting an atheist billboard.

Orange Barrel Media declared the pro-faith message was not acceptable according to The Hollywood Reporter.  …

Meanwhile, the sign advertising the Freedom From Religion Foundation’s message was considered totally acceptable.

Response: This is just a current ‘taking of the temperature’ of the American culture in 2016. In the major cities in America we have recently seen Christian and pro-Israel messages rejected for bus and subway billboards while atheist and anti-Israel, and pro-Muslim messages have been readily accepted and displayed.

Now in this case a billboard for a Christian movie is considered to be ‘incendiary’ and unacceptable but a billboard promoting atheism is just fine? There is nothing wrong with allowing the atheist billboard to be displayed. Also, the billboard company is well within its legal rights to accept or reject whatever ads or messages they want to be displayed on their own billboards.

My point is that we are seeing the beginning of discrimination against conservative Christianity and traditional Christian teaching in America. What use to be considered as ‘right’ and ‘good’ is now unacceptable, controversial, and ‘incendiary.’ The signs of the times!                 *Top
