-Christian College’s Biblical Stand on Homosexuality Questioned by Accreditation Officials

(Gordon College : Wikipedia)
A Christian institution in Massachusetts, Gordon College, is being questioned by the regional accreditation officials over the school’s Bible based personal conduct policies which ban homosexual practice. Here’s the story from the Blaze:
At a meeting on September 18, the New England Association of Schools and Colleges’ Commission on Institutions of Higher Education considered whether Gordon College’s ban on “homosexual practice” runs contrary to its Commissions Standards for Accreditation.
Then, days later, a joint statement between Gordon College and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges — the school’s regional accreditation board — announced that a 20-person commission of students and faculty would help ensure that school “policies and processes are non-discriminatory.”
Response: This is a very serious development. So far the college has been allowed to keep its accreditation. The loss of which would damage this Christian institution in so many ways that it is hard to even imagine. The college administrators are leaning backwards to avoid that possibility.
The accreditation commission’s goal to insure that the school’s “policies and processes are non-discriminatory” is really tantamount to demanding that this Christian college change its Biblical stand on homosexuality. In reality the commission’s ‘non-discriminatory’ policy could actually end up being ‘discriminatory’ against conservative Christian institutions.
If the New England Association of Schools and Colleges’ decides that Bible based Christian standards of conduct concerning homosexuality run contrary to its ‘Standards for Accreditation,’ then not only is Gordon College at risk but all Christian colleges with similar Biblical standards in the region are also in danger of losing their accreditation. A very serious development indeed and really an attack on conservative Bible based Christianity. *Top
