-Bill Maher Defending Christianity?

Maher Attacks the PC ‘All Religions are the Same’ Line
Atheist Bill Maher is no friend of Christianity but even he has no patience for the PC nonsense being voiced by Charlie Rose that Christianity has radicals who think and act like ISIS and other Islamists:
…Maher said, “There are illiberal beliefs that are held by vast numbers of Muslim people that—“
Interrupting his guest again, Rose claimed a “vast number of Christians too” hold such beliefs.
“No, that’s not true. Not true,” Maher proclaimed. “Vast numbers of Christians do not believe that if you leave the Christian religion you should be killed for it. Vast numbers of Christians do not treat women as second class citizens. Vast numbers of Christians do not believe if you draw a picture of Jesus Christ you should get killed for it.”
When Rose asked Maher how he knows that “vast majorities of Muslims” actually “condone violence,” he said many Muslims “shout it.” He also cited a Pew poll conducted in Egypt previously that showed more than 80 percent of Muslims believe stoning is an appropriate punishment for adultery.
“So, to claim that this religion is like other religions is just naive and plain wrong. It is not like other religions,” Maher added.
Response: I really do get tired of the equivalent ‘all religions are the same’ PC line. No- all religions are different and even within the world religions themselves there are various sects, beliefs, and practices. We cannot blame moderate peace loving Muslims for what ISIS is doing. Yet President Obama’s claim that it has nothing to do with Islam is ridiculous. If so then Muhammad and his followers were not Muslim. Historical reality should be acknowledged and never re-written to serve some current ideological notion.
There are a lot of things that Christians did in the past in name of their religion that was despicable. Yes there are some radicals today in Christianity but I do not see any of them beheading folks and killing them if they do not join the faith. At least not in this century and no current Christian leader condones the evil that was even done in the past in the supposed name of Christianity. *Top
