UPDATE: Houston Mayor refused to order a vote on a transgender bathroom ordinance after a petition with over 50,000 signatures was received that should have forced a referendum. She claimed that some of the pages did not have the proper form.
Legally only 17,000 signatures were needed for an automatic referendum on the ordinance. Lawsuits will be following this arrogant nonresponse by Mayor Annise Parker. The mayor responded that she was ready to fight on this issue in court.
