The abortion rate in 2013 was at the lowest in America since Roe v Wade.
Here’s the story from Citizen Link:
The abortion rate decreased — from 2008 to 2011 — and reached its lowest rate since the Roe v. Wade decision in 1973.
The Guttmacher Institute, the research arm of the abortion industry, released the report Monday. Pro-lifers note that its finding coincides with other data reflecting a decrease in abortion over the last couple of years. They also note, though, the study’s lack of attribution to the significant increase in pro-life laws.
Response: This is good news regardless of the reasons. The pro-life movement folks cite new abortion restricting laws across the country for the decline while the pro-abortion crowd blames it on a declining birth rate. Some even question whether the statistics are accurate since not all abortion clinics are required to report numbers.
Nevertheless the year to year stats can be compared and there is a definite decline showing that abortion is trending down in America. At the same time the most recent polls indicate that Americans are becoming far more ‘pro-life’ than they use to be. *Top
