(Arrival at Auschwitz concentration camp 1944: Wikipedia)

Today, January 27 is International Holocaust Remembrance Day recognized by the United Nations and in many European nations.

Here’s the story From the Debka File:

Memorial services and ceremonies take place at the UN, led by the UN Secretary, in Britain, the EU and other parts of the world Monday, Jan. 27 for international Holocaust Remembrance Day on the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau by Soviet forces in 1945.  In 2005, the UN marked the 60th anniversary of the end of the Holocaust and proclaimed this day the International Day of Remembrance, with events hosted at UN Center headed by Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and across Europe, especially Britain.

Response: The Holocaust should never be forgotten. As survivors are passing away it is becoming popular, particularly in the Middle East and unfortunately on some college campuses, to deny it ever happened or minimalize the actual numbers of people involved. If official recognition of the Holocaust should even cease then Christians should pick up the gauntlet and continue the memorials along with our Jewish brothers for the sake of humanity and our future.            *Top
