-A Prayer Thanking God for Abortion Rights and Abortion Doctors?

by Dr. D ~ August 30th, 2013

The following video may be too much for you to take, it certainly was for me. Nevertheless here is an abortion activist at a gathering in Iowa thanking God in  prayer for abortion, abortion doctors, abortion supporters, and for the courage to kill one’s own baby:

Here are several quotes from the prayer by abortion activist Midge Slater:

“We give thanks, oh Lord, for the doctors, both current and future, who provide quality abortion care…,” Slater said. “We pray for our elected officials, that they will always support a woman’s right to make her own medical decisions.”

“We pray for women who have been made afraid of their own power by their materialistic religion. May they learn to reject fear and live bravely,” she added.

Response: The Abortion activists probably felt obligated to add prayers of their own following a prayer vigil by pro-life folks. However in the past abortion activists have resorted to calling prayer against abortion as “threatening” and “hate speech.” But in this case they decided to try a prayer of their own?

Can anyone explain to me how this prayer to continue killing babies can be squared with Christian teaching and theology?

This is much worse but it does remind me of the occasion when President Obama attended a conference for Planned Parenthood in April and ended his remarks with the following:

"Thank you, Planned Parenthood. God bless you."

I thought was outrageous at the time but this beats it as really over the top.            *Top

It’s easy to explain. Just as you have usurped the entirety of religious belief to express solely the Christian concept of god, she has defined a god given right in the context of giving quality to life by allowing women to decide for themselves if, or not, they wish to give life to something part of their body.
Note also how you ignore, completely, the other aspects of her prayer that don’t involve abortion.

    Thanks for your perspective mark
