-Tebow Caves to Pressure?

by Dr. D ~ February 23rd, 2013

Heisman Trophy Winner , before he is about to ...

                  (Tim Tebow: Wikipedia)

When it comes to football, Tim Tebow has shown himself to be one of the best when facing pressure situations. However outside of the game he has now made a huge  mistake by caving to the pro-gay and liberal media in America.

He has now decided to cancel his scheduled appearance and talk at First Baptist Church of Dallas. Tebow made this statement in response:

"While I was looking forward to sharing a message of hope and Christ’s unconditional love with the faithful members of the historic First Baptist Church of Dallas in April, due to new information that has been brought to my attention, I have decided to cancel my upcoming appearance. I will continue to use the platform God has blessed me with to bring Faith, Hope and Love to all those needing a brighter day. Thank you for all of your love and support. God Bless!"

Response: This has been a tough year for Tim Tebow. Sports casters and news writers have assailed him from all sides questioning his abilities and worse yet he never even got a real opportunity to show them up on the field.  For some inexplicable reason, the NY Jet coaches chose not to give him much of a chance to play and prove himself even though their chosen QB was woefully inconsistent and ultimately failing when the pressure was on and it really counted. Something that Tim Tebow has shown that he was exceptionally good at in the past.

Now his record as a decent human being is even being attacked and questioned by the media. What is the problem? He is an Evangelical Christian and everyone knows we are all ‘bigots’ and anti-gay. Rather than responding courageously to the attacks he has run up the white flag and surrendered.

I must say that I am really disappointed. Not only that, it does demonstrate that in the future popular Bible believing Christians in the public eye will receive increasing scrutiny and persecution from the secular main-stream media and the gay-rights activists in particular.

My question is this: Where can Tebow now go among evangelicals without receiving similar media condemnation?             *Top
