-Iran: Ayatollah Khamenei Tells His Nation to Prepare for ‘End-Time’ War

by Dr. D ~ July 10th, 2012

English: Ayatollah Seyed Ali Kh?menei, Superme...

(Ayatollah Ali Kh?menei, Leader of Iran: Wikipedia)

Last Friday, Iran’s Supreme leader the Ayatollah Khamenei officially told his nation through the  state media that it was time to prepare for the  ‘end-times’ war and for the coming of the 12th Imam Mahdi:

“The issue of Imam Mahdi is of utmost importance, and his reappearance has been clearly stated in our holy religion of Islam,” Khamenei said. We must study and remind ourselves of the end of times and Imam Mahdi’s era. … We must prepare the environment for the coming so that the great leader will come.”

“Today we have a duty to prepare for the coming. … If we are the soldiers of the 12th imam, then we must be ready to fight,” Khamenei said.

“With the guidance of Allah and His invisible help, we shall make the Islamic civilization proud on the world stage. … This is our destiny. … The youth, the faithful must prepare themselves for this great move.”

Referring to the Quran, Khamenei said the coming has been promised by Allah. “There will come a time when all the oppressive powers of the world will be destroyed and humanity will be enlightened in the era of Imam Mahdi.”

According to Shiite beliefs and teaching, the ‘end-time’ wars will engulf the entire Earth and kill off one-third of the world’s population, while another third will die from hunger and strife. In the process, Israel will be destroyed, the USA brought down, and somewhere in the midst of the trouble the 12th Imam, Mahdi, will reappear and rule the whole earth.

They also teach that Jesus (Isa) will come back as the Mahdi’s prophet to order all rebelling and non-converting Christians to be beheaded.

The whole scenario reminds me of the Christian understanding of the ‘end-times’ except the Mahdi sounds like the Anti-Christ to me with the false Islamic Isa/Jesus in the role of the ‘false prophet’? A chilling possibility. Also, the war Khamenei seems to be preparing for reminds me of the battle in Ezekiel 38-39: Gog and Magog.

Response: We have been following this issue for some time now. Most of the time the Ayatollah’s statements like this have been quoted from sources within the government. This is the first time that he has made these expectations so public and so clear.

This is significant because the Iranians are said to be close to becoming a nuclear power with missile launching capabilities that could take the Middle East trouble to an entirely different level. Last weekend, Iran tested dozens of long range missiles that might be capable of delivering a nuclear weapon.

Add that all to the fact that Khamenei has been quoted many times that he expects to destroy Israel in his own lifetime and during his leadership over Iran. He has also told members in his own government that the 12th Imam is now appearing to him and giving him advise and counsel.

Meanwhile, the Obama administration continues to try diplomacy. The fact is, our leaders do not believe that the Iranian’s really mean what they are saying. It makes absolutely no sense to folks like President Obama who have a secular world view.

However the Israeli leaders have said that they cannot afford not to believe the Iranian threats and continue to argue with President Obama over how to respond to the potential Iranian nuclear holocaust. At some point it is to be expected that the Israeli government will take action of their own regardless of the official American view.               *Top

A critical and overlooked distinction between Bible Believing Christians and the Islamic world is that Christians do not believe that it is our duty to set the stage for the return of Christ. Christ does not need our help – he will do it all, and will do so at the precisely right moment in time. We have no capability (or duty) to cause these events to happen a second sooner, or a second later, than God intends them to happen.

However, in Islam, as reflected in the remarks quoted above, the faithful have to “prepare the environment” for the 12th Imam. This duty has been variously interpreted within Islam, but there is a school of thought that the annihilation of the Jews, and Jihad against the Christians, are prerequisites.

The secular left, MSM, tend to lump all beliefs in “end-times” into a single category, without recognizing this critical distinction.

    Thank Brian,
The secular left has become activist and radical in their opposition to all religions following 9/11/01. Islamic theology provided the philosophical underpinnings behind the terrorist acts but they look upon all religions with an equivalence
    that defies reality.

Since Christianity is the prevailing religion in America and the West, most atheists and secularists have turned most of their efforts instead towards limiting or eliminating Christianity from the public square. Ironically, the same folks seem to want to go out of their way to tolerate the rise of Islam in America and the West. This shows a huge misunderstanding of the major tenants of Islam. This is one of the major reasons I post articles about Islam and the actions of radical Muslims around the world. Most of the time our MSM refuses to cover the stories because they might contribute to so-called ‘Islamophobia.’

It is chilling to hear the Ayatollah speak so clearly who could doubt that he believes and means what he said. Even more omonise is the correlation with the book of Revelation 9:13-21 which is also a prophecy of a war that will kill 1/3 of mankind
