‘Anonymous’ hackers in Italy have taken down the Vatican website in protest over Church doctrine and teaching:

"Anonymous has decided to put your site under siege in response to your doctrine, liturgy and the absurd and anachronistic rules that your profit-making organization spreads around the world." …

"You refuse to declare objects and practices [the] result of progress, such as condoms or abortion."

Meanwhile, Vatican officials are working overtime trying to get the site back online.

Response: Just yesterday we posted that ‘Anonymous’ hackers had taken down 3 church websites and had declared war on religion and Christianity in particular. Now associates in Italy take down the Roman Catholic website in the Vatican. What next?

Also, what do these folks really want or expect? Do they really think that the church will change its doctrine and views merely because they are no longer popular or politically correct? Probably not, which makes this a senseless attack.

One thing for sure, the average church website could probably be easily hacked or taken down by the average techie if so motivated. Is it now going to be ‘open season’ on the 1000s of church and ministry sites on the Internet? Hopefully not since most churches could not afford the cost or the time and effort necessary to make their sites ‘bullet proof.’          *Top
