From NDTV:

Riyadh: A Saudi woman was beheaded on Monday after being convicted of practising sorcery, which is banned in the ultra-conservative kingdom, the interior ministry said.

Amina bin Abdulhalim Nassar was executed in the northern province of Jawf for "practising witchcraft and sorcery," the ministry said in a statement carried by SPA state news agency. …

The beheading took to 73 the number of executions in Saudi Arabia this year. …

Rape, murder, apostasy, armed robbery and drug trafficking are all punishable by death under Saudi Arabia’s strict interpretation of Islamic sharia law.

Response: Just another example of sharia law in action. At least the Saudi’s radical implementation of it.

Just what this woman actual did will probable never be known. Those who are accused of a ‘religious’ crime in Saudi Arabia really do not get any kind of defense since the case is brought before a religious court and sentence is automatically handed down. The testimony of the ‘religious police’ or a mullah is enough to get it done.

In the past, some Christians have been executed under the witchcraft/sorcery laws after being caught illegally having a Christian worship or prayer service in their homes.             *Top
