-Somali Islamists: Obama Must Re-Convert to Islam or Else

MOGADISHU, Somalia – On Monday, a major Somali Islamist leader, Fuad Mohamed "Shongole" Qalaf of Al-Shabab, threatened to launch attacks upon America unless Pres. Obama re-converted to Islam:
"We tell the American President Barack Obama to embrace Islam before we come to his country."
The USA has thousands of Somali immigrants and at least 20 young Somali-Americans have already already traveled to Somalia for training and have fought with the Al-Shabab terrorist group in Somalia including at least three who have been suicide bombers.
As yet, Al-Shabab has not launched any attacks outside of Africa and seeks to overthrow the current weak U.N.-backed government of Somalia. However, the group continues to targeted young Somali-Americans for recruitment so action within the US itself is not completely out of the question. The FBI is supposedly keeping tabs on the more radical Somali-Americans just in case.
Response: I don’t believe that it would be prudent for the President to respond in any way to this threat. He has made it very clear in the past that he is now a Christian.
It is also very doubtful that any of the press corps would have the guts to even ask.
It should be noted that under Islamic Sharia law upheld in many Muslim countries, Pres. Obama would be in violation of their law and subject to a death sentence for converting from Islam to Christianity. *Top of the Blog
