-Health Care Bill: Teetering on Tyranny

Only 35% support the HealthCare bill that is being pushed today in Congress and 55% solidly oppose it according to the latest polling by Fox News.

Millions of phone calls and emails in opposition have flooded the congressional offices during the last week or so. Nevertheless, Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the Democratic leadership plan on ‘deeming’ the bill passed and plan to move on making changes and amendments to it as if they had actually voted on the Senate bill and passed it?

Legal and Constitutional scholars are divided over the questionable parliamentary tactics proposed in passing this monstrosity. One would think that our supposed representatives in Congress would want overwhelming support of the people before they change 1/6 of the American economy and affect the lives of every single individual in the country. Hopefully they back away from this tactic in favor of an actual up or down vote.

But no, these ‘fearless’ leaders seem to arrogantly believe that they know what is best for us and seem to be intent on shoving it down our throats whether we want it or not. It is not an exaggeration to say that our entire democratic representative form of government is being assailed today in Congress. Depending on the outcome we are actually teetering on tyranny.

If passed, this bill will force everyone in the country to buy health insurance under the penalty of the law including fines and possible jail time. If passed, the government will determine for you what needs to be in every health insurance policy.

Do you like what you have now? Well what you have now will no longer exist. Every policy will need to be changed to conform with the new 2,300 page document. This is the dirty little secret that President Obama refuses to acknowledge.

No my friends, today we are teetering on tyranny and if our leaders continue down this road we could become a benign ‘banana republic’ ruled by an aristocracy that claims to be looking out for our best interests whether we like it or not.                *Top
