-Is the Tebow Story Really ‘Offensive’?

by Dr. D ~ January 30th, 2010

In the video, Bill O’Reilly interviews Jehmu Greene, President of the Women’s Media Center, on his TV show and ends up asking her the question:

“Are you offended that Tim Tebow is alive?”

Ms. Greene does not respond.

So-called women’s rights groups are up in arms trying to block a 30-second Superbowl ad sponsored by Focus on the Family and featuring Tim Tebow, the University of Florida’s Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback, and his mother telling their story.

Apparently Pam Tebow had amoebic dysentery while she was pregnant with Tim and her doctors feared that the treatment for the illness would cause deformity in the child. Nevertheless, Pam continued and had her baby against the counsel of her doctors. The very healthy Tim Tebow is the result.

Is this really a story that is so offensive that all stops need to be pulled out to stop it from airing all costs? Some would have you think that it is but I believe it is just a touching human story that regular folks will consider a blessing.

Pro-abortion groups are doing everything they can to block a story of a woman who ‘made a choice’—a choice of life for her baby. The dirty little secret seems to be that some activists on the pro-abort side seem to be offended by any woman who makes a choice that doesn’t include abortion.

They seem to be horrified at the prospect of any story with a message that might encourage a woman to really think twice about the choice of ending the life of their child—even when doctors are ‘concerned’.             *Top
