The liberal/radical U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals has done it again—ruling against freedom of conscience and religion. According to the un-esteemed Justices, pharmacists have no rights of conscience at all and can be required by law to dispense medication in violation of their religious or ethical beliefs.

The original lawsuit was filed to block the state of Washington from enforcing a law requiring pharmacists to dispense medication like the "morning-after" pill — which is tantamount to inducing an early abortion. The law would force pharmacists and owners of pharmacies to carry and dispense medication that violate their own ethical and religious conscience.

Response: All pretense of freedom is thrown out the window here and sacrificed on the altar of liberal/progressive political agenda. The only choices left for the business owners would be to comply or go out of business entirely. For pharmacists, the choice would be between violating their own consciences or finding a new profession.

The Ruling will be appealed to the Supreme Court and hopefully they will consider it. If not, then potentially laws could be passed that force health workers of all types to participate in procedures that violate their ethics and beliefs like abortion and maybe even medically assisted suicide.            *Top
