-Calif: Judicial Committee Seeks to Overturn Prop 8

The Prop 8 saga continues! Now the state Assembly Judiciary Committee has filed a friend-of-the-court brief this last week asking the California Supreme Court to overturn the Prop 8 vote. They are contending that voters should not have a say at all in the issue–that voters cannot be trusted to make the ‘right’ decision. From their perspective, obviously the people didn’t vote correctly in this case.

Response: First of all it was the California Supreme Court that forced same-sex marriage on the state in the first place. Now next month they get to decide if Prop 8 stands or falls? Meanwhile it seems like nearly every politician is pushing for the prop to be overturned including the Governator, the State attorney General ‘Moon Beam’ Brown, and now the Judiciary committee.

I wonder how the court will rule? Against themselves and their friends or against the will of the people which continues to be vilified? Let me guess!         *Top

    Judicial Accountability Initiative Law(J.A.I.L.)
    (California Initiative)

Preamble. We, the People of California, find that the doctrine of judicial immunity has been greatly abused; that when judges abuse their power, the People are obliged – it is their duty – to correct that injury, for the benefit of themselves and their posterity. In order to ensure judicial accountability and domestic tranquility, we hereby amend our Constitution by adding the following provisions as Sec. 32 to Article I, which shall be known as “The J.A.I.L. Amendment.”
