-China Taken off State Dept. ‘List of Worst Human Rights Offenders’–Now Tibet?

by Dr. D ~ March 18th, 2008

It was announced by the US State Department on March 13, that China was no longer on its ‘ list of Worst Human Right Offenders’.

image Response: This is really among the worst cases of poor timing ever. Not only have the Chinese authorities been involved with an ongoing roundup of Christian ‘house church’ leaders lately, but now they are involved with putting down a serious revolt in Tibet that started as a peaceful demonstration against the Chinese treatment and regulation of Tibetan Buddhism.  Now Europe is even considering a boycott of the opening Olympic ceremonies in protest of the Chinese treatment of Tibet.

Sounds to me like China should be all by themselves on a new more exclusive list?            *Top
