-Iraq: Kidnapped Archbishop Found Dead
by Dr. D ~ March 13th, 2008
Chaldean Catholic Archbishop Paulos Faraj Rahho, has been found dead in Mosul. The Archbishop had been abducted by Islamic radicals on February 29, when a group of gunmen attacked his car in eastern Mosul, killing his driver and two guards in the process. The Islamists were demanding a huge ransom from the Christian community for his return.
It hasn’t been determined yet how he died, though Archbishop Rahho did have some ongoing health problems. Increasingly the Iraqi Christian community has been subjected to a great deal of persecution and thousands have fled the country.
Response: Another sad example of violence within Islam and how some radical members of the supposed ‘religion of peace’ continue to be intolerant of other religions, particularly Christians. *Top
