Over 100,000 Attend Luis Palau Festival in Omaha

by Dr. D ~ July 19th, 2007

Over 100,000 attended the two day Luis Palau Heartland Festival in Omaha, Nebraska. This comes at a time when many Christians have been commenting and speculating that the era of large stadium evangelistic campaigns was probably over with the retirement of Billy Graham. Over 5,000 made decisions for Christ at the festival and tons of food was collected to be distributed to the poor.

Over 275 local churches contributed volunteers to the festival including for the first time the local Catholic Archdiocese of Omaha. To have both Catholic and Protestant churches involved in the same evangelistic festival is an encouraging and unique development.              *Top

Decisions for Christ? What is that. Many, many free rosaries were past out, and Roman Catholic Archbishop Eldon Curtiss was ecstatic about the “festival.”

    This is about apostasy.

Luis Palau preached the Gospel and asked the attendees to follow Christ and make changes in their lives. Is that to be discounted because the Catholics participated?
