-Praying Psalm 119:137-144

by Request ~ November 9th, 2015

Tsadhe

137 Righteous are you, O Lord,
and right are your rules.
138 You have appointed your testimonies in righteousness
and in all faithfulness.
139 My zeal consumes me,
because my foes forget your words.
140 Your promise is well tried,
and your servant loves it.
141 I am small and despised,
yet I do not forget your precepts.
142 Your righteousness is righteous forever,
and your law is true.
143 Trouble and anguish have found me out,
but your commandments are my delight.
144 Your testimonies are righteous forever;
give me understanding that I may live.  (ESV)

Footnote:

Psalm 119 is an acrostic poem of twenty-two stanzas, following the letters of the Hebrew alphabet; within a stanza, each verse begins with the same Hebrew letter

Our Father,

Our zeal consumes us; your Word is our delight and needs to be delivered to every nation, people, and tongue.

But trouble and anguish have found us in this great  nation; we live in a country where your Word is now discounted as something that history has passed by at best and dangerous discriminatory fables that need to be restricted at worse. We cry out for our own nation and for the American church that revival might once more come to our land; let your Holy Spirit hover over this nation and let your host defeat  the enemy and his principalities over our cities and country.

Let your Kingdom come down in our midst and let your will be done in your church and let it finally be victorious. Let signs and wonders, healings and miracles confirm to this nation the veracity of your Word to this generation that is now rejecting it. Let new leaders come forth from those who now disbelieve with a new conviction to fulfill the destiny of your church before the great day when your Son comes again in the clouds. When he comes let there be a victorious church to call up to him from every nation and not just a defeated remnant to save.

In Jesus name, Amen.
