-Praying Psalm 119:41-48

by Dr. D ~ October 22nd, 2015

41 Let your steadfast love come to me, O Lord,
your salvation according to your promise;
42 then shall I have an answer for him who taunts me,
for I trust in your word.
43 And take not the word of truth utterly out of my mouth,
for my hope is in your rules.
44 I will keep your law continually,
forever and ever,
45 and I shall walk in a wide place,
for I have sought your precepts.
46 I will also speak of your testimonies before kings
and shall not be put to shame,
47 for I find my delight in your commandments,
which I love.
48 I will lift up my hands toward your commandments, which I love,
and I will meditate on your statutes.  (ESV)

Psalm 119 is an acrostic poem of twenty-two stanzas, following the letters of the Hebrew alphabet; within a stanza, each verse begins with the same Hebrew letter

Our Father,

Let your steadfast love come to me, O Lord and your salvation according to your promise. I will also speak of your testimonies and be your servant and witness before kings and and rulers and regular folks without being put to shame.

You have told me in the past when I was young that I could have a part to play in the great harvest of this generation; let that be a reality. Let me be part of those in your church who spread the Word of your Kingdom in every nation and where ever I may go while I have breath and can still speak. Let me also see revival in my own nation while there is yet day.

In the meantime, I will meditate on your Word and lift my hands up in worship and bow my head in prayer honoring you every remaining day of my life.

In Jesus name, Amen.
