-Praying Psalm 119:9-16

by Request ~ October 16th, 2015

Beth

9 How can a young man keep his way pure?
    By guarding it according to your word.
10 With my whole heart I seek you;
    let me not wander from your commandments!
11 I have stored up your word in my heart,
    that I might not sin against you.
12 Blessed are you, O Lord;
    teach me your statutes!
13 With my lips I declare
    all the rules[3] of your mouth.
14 In the way of your testimonies I delight
    as much as in all riches.
15 I will meditate on your precepts
    and fix my eyes on your ways.
16 I will delight in your statutes;
    I will not forget your word.  (ESV)

Footnotes:

Psalm 119 is an acrostic poem of twenty-two stanzas, following the letters of the Hebrew alphabet; within a stanza, each verse begins with the same Hebrew letter

3.  Or all the just decrees

Our Father,

With my whole heart I seek you; let me not wander from your commandments! I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you. Blessed are you, O Lord; teach me your statutes!

Let your Holy Spirit guide us as we meditate on your Word and learn your ways. Let us learn to delight in your statues and not in the ways of the world but learn to seek your Kingdom within our hearts and lives. Write your word upon our hearts and by your holy Spirit teach us and guide us daily toward our callings and destinies.

Let your church rise up in this critical hour; let your servants take your Word to every nation, people, and tongue. Let this nation which use to honor you find its way back and let a new awakening break out beginning with those of us who claim the name of your Son Jesus.

In Jesus name, Amen.
