-Praying Psalm 13

by Request ~ June 23rd, 2015

A Psalm of David.

13 How long, O Lord? Will you forget me forever?
How long will you hide your face from me?
2 How long must I take counsel in my soul
and have sorrow in my heart all the day?
How long shall my enemy be exalted over me?

3 Consider and answer me, O Lord my God;
light up my eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death,
4 lest my enemy say, “I have prevailed over him,”
lest my foes rejoice because I am shaken.

5 But I have trusted in your steadfast love;
my heart shall rejoice in your salvation.
6 I will sing to the Lord,
because he has dealt bountifully with me.  (ESV)

Our Father,

For a long time we longed for our situation to improve and now it is far better but we still have a long ways to go. We prayed and read your word hoping for a resolution and you blessed us with patience and we have gotten closer to you in the process so it all has not been in vain.

A long time ago we received your vision of where you were taking us and this is not a fulfillment of our hopes or anywhere close to the direction we believe that you gave us so many years ago. The years are leaving us and now there are fewer ahead than behind. But I read about Joseph and it still gives me hope.

Rise up o God and help us defeat our fears and slay the giants standing in the way of the path you originally revealed to us. We are presently in a fog and need clear vision of the steps we need to take to get there from here.

Praise your name Lord and the name of your Son Jesus and by your Holy Spirit lead us out of the desert places into the promised destiny before us.

In Jesus name, Amen.
