An incredible study of characters.  The film lets us in the back door of a show which is closing after 30 years. It is based upon an actual radio show done by Garrison Keillor.  We are introduced to the performers in their natural back stage settings.  It is a delightful presentation that the viewer immediately becomes a part of and cares about.

Kevin Kline, as the back door security guard/detective is particularly interesting.  Meryl Streep gives us another memorable performance.  Woody Harrelson is outragous, Lindsey Lohan is understated, while Virginia Madsen portrays an beautiful ‘angel of death’.  Some adult outrageous and ‘risque humor’. Well worth the time and money to see.
