In fact, looking at some of the comments that Ben Witherington’s posts have attracted, many seem to be angry when real historical facts are cited.  So many ad hominem attacks!  See: The three posts on Ben Witherington’s Blog.  Also I found another interesting take on the Beside the Point blog.
