-Middle East in Crisis: Yemen Joins Tunisia and Egypt

Thousands are marching in anti-government rallies today in Yemen joining Tunisia and Egypt as Muslim countries in crisis.
Add to that the recent government dissolution in Lebanon and the inability for the Iraqis to form a new stable government plus the continuing transformation of Turkey from a secular Euro leaning country towards an Islamist dominated regime. Then take a look at what is happening in Pakistan recently and you begin to get a picture of the entire Middle East in flux and chaos.
Radical Islamists are behind most of the trouble but there are very good reasons for regular folks to be unhappy with the status quo in their respective countries.
A little over a week I wrote about the probability of the chaos in Tunisia to spread:
The Muslim world is growing at an exponential rate and the young Muslims coming of age are far more radical than their parents and have very little patience for the current corrupt rulers and governments where they live. Tunisia is just the first domino to fall with more chaos probably on the horizon.
Now we are facing even greater problems if Egypt which borders on Israel is transformed into a more radical country plus the specter of Yemen falling to an al Qaeda faction is a reality that could shift the entire balance of power in the Middle East.
Meanwhile we (US and the West) have over 100,000 troops supporting a corrupt government in non-strategic Afghanistan in a war with no end in sight and with no discernible goals while the enemy just across the border is destroying nuclear weapon laden Pakistan.
One could not write a better apocalyptic scenario if even the most talented writer among us tried. 2011 is beginning to make 2010 look like a walk in the park. It is time for all Christians to get on their knees and pray for the Middle east. Remember also to specifically pray for all of our Christian brothers and sisters in those unfortunate countries and pray for the peace of Jerusalem and Israel. *Top of the Blog
