-The Percentages Against Those Who Live Together Before Marriage

Study after study shows that there is a greater rate of failure among married couples who live together before marriage. Here’s the newest research confirming it: Marriage and Cohabitation in the United States – CDC Report
Yet in my own family and among close friends I have heard couples say again and again that they are living together to make sure their marriage will work out. However all the studies show that ‘shacking up’ is sort of the kiss of death for longevity in an eventual marriage-at least a larger percentage end in divorce than those who don’t.
Unfortunately it’s become accepted in our culture even though research shows that the conventional wisdom is wrong in this case. Once again God’s word on the matter is shown to have better long term results. Maybe the Creator actually knows something? Maybe even know us better than we know ourselves. *Top
