-UPDATE: Case Against Christian Hotel Couple Dismissed

The Case against Ben and Sharon Vogelenzang has been dismissed. The trial began yesterday but was dismissed this afternoon by the magistrate-District judge Richard Clancy- who ruled that the evidence against the hoteliers was “inconsistent”. The couple had been charged by authorities with a religiously aggravated public order offence after they had a disagreement with a Muslim guest who complained that the couple had insulted her and her religion-Islam.

Response: Common sense finally prevailed in this case. From the testimony of both parties it really is hard to understand why the authorities got involved in the first place. Both the Christian couple and the Muslim women were merely defending their own faith. Why the police charged the Vogelenzang’s with a violation is still puzzling and makes no sense at all.
