Today, Monday October 13, over 1,000 police were sent into Mosul to protect the Christian community that remained in the city. The Police were deployed to man checkpoints, and patrol Christian churches, businesses, and neighborhoods. Offering a cushion of protection for the embattled Christian minority.
On Sunday, Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki had ordered an investigation of all the attacks against Christians, and vowed to do all that he can to protect their community. It is really helpful to see Maliki’s government actually do something for a change rather than just talk about it.
