-Algeria: Continues Persecution of Christianity
by Dr. D ~ June 6th, 2008
Persecution of Christianity continues in Algeria in a major way. In February we wrote about a Priest being arrested for holding a prayer and worship service in a home.
Now here are two stories of continuing persecution of Christians in Algeria. The first one from Compass Direct, tells how converts to Christianity are being arrested and sentenced to 2-3 years in prison. The second news story is about the closure of 26 protestant churches by the government and the continuing efforts by Algerian authorities to shut down Christian churches and groups in the country.
Response: Christians really do need to pray for their Christian brothers and sister in Algeria. The gospel will be preached in every nation including Algeria, regardless of the actions of government authorities.
