The Hajj pilgrimage began on Monday and will continue through Friday. Nearly 2 million are participating in the pilgrimage this year, it is also major religious holiday for observant Muslim families.

Here is an article from the LA Times about a number of Muslims who are involved in the pilgrimage from my area -OC Southern California. It is an interesting story about the necessary preparation that one must make before embarking on the trip to Mecca.

Response: I am posting and linking to stories about the Muslim Hajj in order to promote understanding. Those of us who are not Muslim know so little about the Hajj. I found the OC story particularly interesting since it is close to home and I have several neighbors who are Muslim. *Top
